Geographic
Location and Territory:
Krabi is a small province full of natural tourism
resources and ancient cultural heritage. There are
harmonious combinations of lives and people coming from
different nationalities, religions, and beliefs. Krabi,
located on the West sea coast and adjacent to the
Andaman Sea, is roughly 814 kilometers far away from
Bangkok along the national highway. The area of Krabi
Province is 4708.512 square kilometers or approximately
2,942,820 Rai. Krabi's territory is adjacent to the
following neighboring provinces:
Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang
Topography:
the general topography on the northern part of Krabi
comprises mountain ranges lying down to the north
alternating with undulating areas. There are Coastal
plains on the western part. The topography on the
southern part is scattering mountains alternating with
undulating areas. Moreover, the southernmost and
southwest parts' topography ranges from undulating to
quite smooth areas including alternate high and low
mountains. The west part, roughly 160 kilometers long,
is a coast connected to Andaman Sea and consists of 154
big and small islands; however, there are only 13
islands which people live. The important island are Koh
Lanta and Phi Phi Island which are located in Amphoe
Muang and are the top of the world ranking regarding
most beautiful tourist attractions.
